My name is Jackie Hill. I have been a PG County educator for 19 years now! I currently teach at Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School. This is my 3rd year in STEP. Throughout the years I have always been willing to learn the latest in technology so that I could incorporate what I have learned into the classroom. I have taught on the elementary, middle and high school levels. Sharing technology is what I do on a regular basis. I am excited about being in this program and working with great team members. In addition to STEP, I am part of the Technology Leadership Academy. I am also PBIS Coordinator and Senior Class Co-Sponsor for my school. I have 3 children and enjoy spending time with them. I also like to write poetry, go to the movies and plan activities in order to spend time with family and friends.
As a participant and STEP-Year 3, I have 3 goals:1. Learn new technology strategies and implement them in the classroom2. Provide sharing and training opportunities for other staff members3. To increase my professional development
Reflections 9/30/10
How will STEP help you integrate technology into your building?
STEP will teach me the latest technology tools and strategies so that I am equipped to share with staff members. I will be able to offer after-school workshops as well as one on one training. As a STEP team we will be able to plan ways to share technology with the staff and get them excited about integrating technology in the classroom.
What are you looking forward to the most?
I am looking forward to learning something new this year. This is year 3 for our team. We are excited and ready to go!
What challenges or roadblocks do you foresee?
What challenges or roadblocks do you foresee?
The challenge will be managing my time so that I meet the requirements of the program. Also, being able to have the time to reach out to staff will be a challenge. We have over 150 staff members. Figuring out the best way to reach the majority of them will be a challenge.
